The Florida Center for Library Automation (FCLA) provides state-of-the-art, cost-effective information technology to assist the libraries of the public universities of Florida in their support of teaching, learning, research and public service. More specifically, implement and centrally support high quality computer systems that help the libraries acquire, manage and provide access to information resources. Provide software to enhance access to information for students and faculty, increase the productivity of library staff, improve inter-library sharing, and preserve digital materials for future use. Through planning with the university libraries, ensure that FCLA services are integral to the University libraries' ability to carry out their own missions in support of teaching, research and service.
The Shared Bib Implementation Team continues to meet every Monday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. EDT to move the project along. The current plan is to bring Aleph down Friday afternoon, June 22, 2012 and to bring up the new Aleph environment 5-7 days later. Mango will be available with the ability for users to log in and request items turned off.
If you are interested in any aspect of the project you can visit the Shared Bib wiki: http://SharedBib.pubwiki.fcla.edu. On this site you can review agendas and notes from meetings, watch recordings of training sessions or read notes about the test database.
